Wrote another couple songs for my nerd music project.  I like this one a lot.

The Ballad of Han and Greedo

There’s a bar down in Mos Eisley

Where everybody knows

About the time a bounty hunter

Came lookin’ for Han Solo

Now you may have heard this story

It’s been told around the universe

But no one really knows for sure

Just exactly who shot first

The bounty hunter’s name was Greedo

He was sent by Jabba the Hut

A lousy, rotten, son of a bitch

Who’d do most anything for a buck

Well Han Solo was a gambler

And he’d accrued a bit of debt

Jabba thought he’d teach him a lesson

That he wouldn’t soon forget.

The bounty hunter saw our hero

Across the bar with Luke and Ben

And he took the opportunity

Cause it might not come again.

Solo said “I’ve got your money”

But Greedo told him “It’s too late.

Jabba doesn’t like your kind

You had your chance to pay.”

Greedo told him “Maybe the big man

Will just take your ship and not your head.”

And Han just laughed and glared right back

Said “Not until the day I’m dead.”

They stared each other down

And Greedo said “That day’s today.”

Then they both pulled their guns

And when the smoke had cleared away…

It was the bounty hunter who lay there

Lifeless where he sat.

And Han Solo just stood up and left

And he never once looked back.

Now some say Greedo was the first to shoot

And maybe he just missed.

But other’s say there’s no way in hell

Cause Han had the quicker wrist.

So maybe it was just good timing.

And maybe someone’s lousy aim.

But you can’t deny

And I’d bet my hide

The force was with Han that day.
