Star Wars X-Wing: Starfighters of Adumar ~ Aaron Allston

Wedge: "One last piece of advice. Cheriss, you’re always going to be too young for something important to you, too old for something else, and the timing is just not going to be right for a third set of things. That’s life, and you can make yourself crazy by dwelling on that. Or you can figure out what you are the right age for, and what the timing is right for, and celebrate those things. Where do you suppose happiness lies?"
    Cheriss: "I understand."
    Wedge: “Good.”

Today, one of my coworkers told me that, I have the most positive outlook on life of anyone she has ever met. She told me how I have such a great personality and how I just radiate positivity. To be honest, I think this is one of the greatest compliments I have ever received because it’s one that I find completely true with myself.
I have made many mistakes in my past (and many more to come in my future) as well as I have had a lot of the roughest times in my past. I think everything that you do, no matter how positive or negative, or how big or how small, has a HUGE effect on who you are today and where you stand in life. This leads me to say, that EVERYTHING that has happened in my life so far, I would not change in a heartbeat because if the slightest thing changed I wouldn’t be who I am today. And in all honesty, I am fucking proud of who I am today. I am eighteen (going on nineteen) years old. I do not drink. I do not do any drugs. I don’t smoke. And I don’t care. I love exploring the world and I enjoy the little things in life (like waiting in lines and filling out forms!). I love being happy and spreading it to others by a simple smile. I am a child at heart but I am not immature. I am an excitable person because of this and it makes me happy to just be able to walk the earth every day. I am extremely comfortable in my skin and I just love being who I am. I have a “shit happens” attitude (if something happens, I don’t care because even IF I could have done something to prevent it, I can’t do anything about it now). Forgive and forget. Slap on the cliches because those which you “say you can live by” (but really don’t always live by them), I live by. Always.
The reason why I try to have a positive outlook on life is because life isn’t going to get easier the more you complain, or the more you hate something, or whatever. If you don’t want to be somewhere, you’re going to be miserable. Take my love of standing in lines for example. If you don’t try to have a good time in a line, you’re not going to have a good time. But if you get really excited about being in line, it makes it a good time, and it speeds up the time you spend in line.
I hope everyone can just enjoy life because this is all we have to enjoy. This is our time and this is the time to seize the day. Wishing everyone the best. Cheers.

ABOUT
WEDGE ANTILLES

Scribblings from an X-Wing in a galaxy far, far away.

Hello, my name is Rebecca. I'm an above average Star Wars fan. I have a deep appreciation for Wedge Antilles and the rest of the X-Wing pilots (most specifically Rogue and Wraith Squadrons). I, also, lead a Corran Horn appreciation life.

My Star Wars favorites.
