LNQ10 Results— You live in the SW Galaxy, what planet are you from?

My Response: I generally say Corellia if asked this question. To change things up, today, I am going to not say Corellia. I’d probably live on Coruscant for my working career but I’d be from Taanab. Preferably I’d be born around the same time as a Senor Wes Janson, so we could grow up and be crazy hooligans together. We’d probably cause boatloads of trouble. And it’d be swell.

Survey says: Corellia—which well, is quite an obvious choice, seeing as if you were born there there’s a 50% chance you’ll be a badass smuggler or a 50% chance you’d be a stellar member of CorSec and later work for the New Republic as a starfighter pilot or in Intelligence. Runners up: Alderaan and Anaxes.

erublog answered: Dac (Mon Calamari). I’m sick of the Hoth-like winters of Michigan. I want to live somewhere tropical. With fish that make space ships.

thedroidyourelookingfor answered: Anaxes! We have an Imperial Military parade every hour! Free Death Star Balloons!

senpezeco-starwars answered: Tepasi! Home of achtnaks and technocrats. Filthy rich technocrats. Like, lie-down-and-die-rich.

This is my puzzle-model Solar System. I said I would post a picture when I have it up. Ta-da. I’ll probably take a better picture sometime later. But you get the idea! It’s ridiculously awesome. Hooray. The best part is they included Pluto.
If you want to buy it~!
I also bought solar system wall stickers, which I am returning because the cut of Saturn and Uranus are completely off.

The United States of Star Wars.
Here is the completed list of the planets and states. There are probably tens of planets that work for each state, I picked either the first one that I came to or the best fit.
Planets were assigned based on partial terrain, landmarks that correlate with the planet and state, types of people in the state and planet, famous landmarks, or slightly randomly selected (but loosely based on facts) from my brother and myself.
It took a few days but I’m pretty satisfied with the end result. Click through to enlarge.

**I could not find a photo of Adumar for California. So I took the book cover. Do not complain. There needed to be some X-Wing love on this.

I’ve been throwing this idea around

That it’d be fun to take the U.S. States and designate Star Wars worlds to them based on climate, land formations, what they’re famous for, etc. And not only just limit it to U.S. States but other countries as well.

Feel free to reply to this or message me with planet/state or country suggestions and I can see if we can come up with a list. And then I’ll spend some time making a graphic related to it and I’ll post a list when it’s completed.

For example: Arizona or New Mexico could be Tatooine. Alaska could be Hoth. (These are examples so feel free to designate other worlds to these states).

Neptune Finally Makes First Orbit Around the Sun Since Discovery In 1846
—
The planet Neptune will be in opposition — when the sun, Earth, and a planet fall in a straight line on Aug. 20. The planet will be exactly opposite the sun in the sky, being highest in the sky at local midnight. Usually this is also the point where the planet is closest to the Earth.
This opposition is special because Neptune will be returning close to the spot where it was discovered in 1846, marking its first complete trip around the sun since its discovery.
Coincidentally opposition in 1846 also fell on Aug. 20, although the planet wasn’t actually spotted until over a month later, on Sept. 23.

ABOUT
WEDGE ANTILLES

Scribblings from an X-Wing in a galaxy far, far away.

Hello, my name is Rebecca. I'm an above average Star Wars fan. I have a deep appreciation for Wedge Antilles and the rest of the X-Wing pilots (most specifically Rogue and Wraith Squadrons). I, also, lead a Corran Horn appreciation life.

My Star Wars favorites.
