LNQ51 Recap— What is your favorite book from the Expanded Universe?
My response: This was a ridiculously hard question for me. I think the best book written is I, Jedi. It has some really great comedic moments, great action, great characters and Corran Horn, well, he’s the greatest. BUT seeing as that is the typical response from me. I’m going to tell you my runner ups.
The Bacta War: I loved this one because it was really cool seeing Rogue Squadron have to operate outside of the New Republic and have the ability to do stuff they’re not legally supposed to do. So many great moments in that book.
Starfighters of Adumar: This really needs no explanation if you’ve read it. It’s probably the funniest book in the EU and you’ll never want to put it down.
(and the rest of the X-Wing books….hahaha)
Survey says: Starfighters of Adumar, Star by Star, I, Jedi and Solo Command all had multiple votes.
Favorite responses:
kesiera answered: I, Jedi because Corran, describing Kyp as something besides “handsome” and OORYL GIVING RELATIONSHIP ADVICE and SOA b/c HELLO COCKPIT WEDGE.
-spacemonkeymafia answered: Black Fleet Crisis. And I know that’s cheating because it’s a trilogy, but my hardcover has all three books and I read them as one! Hardcore! The Black Fleet Crisis is… not well liked. Actually, it’s pretty much, reviled, or it was back in the day. But I love it. The characters make mistakes: Leia trips up as a politician, trying her hardest to be diplomatic, Han is a badass commander in a war, they’re seen at moment as a normal couple the way you might imagine the president and the first lady. And Luke has casual sex, ha!
izzybeth answered: ohgod, toss-up! Solo Command or Starfighters Of Adumar. SC because Rogues AND Wraiths! Millenium Falsehood! and SOA because HELLO OBVIOUSLY.
walkingoutoftime answered: Wraith Squadron - Refreshed Wedge’s character, new level of humor to the series (if not universe), and the “Check your other boot” scene.
